Graduating from High School
Graduating from High School is a huge step in a young person’s life. It is a time where a young adult leaves their childhood years behind with hopes of a successful future. Cutting the ties with the only life they’ve ever known can be both very stressful and at the same time, very exciting. Most graduates will end up in either college or universities where they will form new friendships and new hopes. Even though it is an exciting time for them, it’s a sad moment for them as they say goodbye to friends and leaving the life they’ve become used to. It is all part of growing up. It is part of becoming an independent adult and building a life of their own.
My High School years
I remember my High School years when I became a graduating senior even though this was 42 years ago. I remember it very well. These memories have been part of my life from the day I graduated to today. My High School years were some of the best years of my life. Going from Primary School to High School was a daunting thing but graduating from High School was scary. I had become a young adult not knowing where life would take me. Seeing some of my friends for the last time was very emotional. I remember all of them very well even though many of them I have never seen again. I know some have passed away because I heard about it through the grapevine. It saddens me when I hear these news and I reminisce of those wonderful years where we laughed in the school’s hallways.
A wonderful place
I remember one of my grade 8 professor telling us one day that we would really miss our Primary School as we moved on to become High School students. Even though the move was a little daunting I can tell you this, he was wrong. After the first couple of weeks in my first High School year I realized that this was going to be a wonderful place to go to school. I made new friends and developed relationships with the teachers. It seemed like they were treating us more like adults instead of children. We even had break periods which was really exciting. We never had these in Primary School. In the school cafeteria there was a juke box where we could listen to music as we chatted and played with friends. We would take walks outside and fool around. This time was ours and ours only.
In the last year of High School
Many times I wish I could go back to this last year in school. I don’t know what I would do different but I know it would just be amazing to go through that last year once more. I met my wife Lisette when I was in grade 12. She was a grade 10 student. I fell in love with her and for some reason I knew she was the one for me. This made leaving High School a little more difficult but what was more difficult than that was leaving this school behind and what it represented for me. Our friends, the sports we played, the teachers who had become our friends, the hallways where we had spent so much time walking in and the new challenges we faced all contributed to this stress.
Fond Memories
The memories of my High School year will stay with me forever. They are some of the most cherished moments in my life. As I graduated from High School I took a huge step towards my future. I had become an adult without even realizing it. This journey brought me from being a kid to adulthood. It was a critical moment on my journey to where I am today. I wish I had more photos of what we looked like back then but High school Senior photography did not exist at the time. Nevertheless I have my memories and that no one can ever take these away from me.
Graduating High School Seniors
High School Senior Photography is a very popular way of showing who you are as an individual during your final high school year. This will be, in many cases, when the student will leave their families and the life they’ve become used to and begin to make it on their own. We believe it is very important that this moment is captured as it will never be relived. High School Senior portraits is something you will cherish forever. Encasing these memories in a photo album will become an heirloom to be passed on to their generations to come.
We take pride in capturing this moment in a way that best represents who they are at that time of their lives. Photography is not about taking pictures. It is more about capturing who the person is. Every photo has to tell a story about the individual. Each individual is different so each photo session has to be different. It has to show everything about who the student is. This is what we do and this is what we are good at.
