Katherine and Blain traveled to Noelville for their engagement session. We had scheduled it one day prior but with a day that saw nothing but an awful lot of rain we decided to postpone it one day knowing that this was the best decision even though we knew it was going to be quite a bit colder.
The couple arrived around 3:15 in the afternoon and by the time they arrived Lisette and I had decided that it would be best if we were to do the engagement session in our own yard since just about every other location we normally go to was saturated from the heavy rainfall of the day before. At least our yard was dry. We own 40 acres of land so we were not limited to where to go for the photo shoot but just like everywhere else, a lot of our property was also saturated with water from the rain. The immediate area around the house was dry so it was a no-brainer, that is where we were going to do the session.
This was the first time we met Katherine and Blain. We had communicated before through emails and Facebook but we had never met them. So we did not know what to expect of each other but we quickly warmed up to them. They are just a wonderful young couple that fits well with what we are all about. We spent the first few minutes chatting, however we knew that this being a cloudy day, that we did not have a whole lot of daylight left so we got on to the task at hand.
One of my favorite way to start photographing a couple to get the jitters out is to have them walking towards me so this is exactly how we began the session. The entire session went really well aside that it was miserably cold. The not so much the temperature itself but the wind made it feel like it was well below zero. I must say this couple was just simply amazing and to tell you the truth, they never let on that they were cold. They had to be cold for sure, I was freezing. Nevertheless the session went really well and we enjoyed every minute of it. They made our work so much easier by being who they are. One of the best thing about all of this is that we will see them again since we are photographing their wedding on August 13, 2015.
Here are a few images from the session. Although it wasn’t snowing it might as well had been so I added some gentle snowfall to their photos.
